This morning one robin was chasing another

... around the garden.  This afternoon it was dinner.  We heard it's dying call and went to have a look.  Sparrowhawks  appear to sit on their prey until they finally expire.  This hawk stopped to eat the majority of its meal a few feet away from our front door.  This photo was taken through glass and with fading light, so this was about as good as it got.  It ate the majority of its meal in the garden before finally carrying off over the fence.

Earlier we shopped for food at Rob Royd Farm Shop before walking around part of Worsbrough Dam reservoir and stopping for a late lunch at the Mill Cafe (the one with the warning about Skinny people getting abducted on the sign outside).  It's only small inside and was quite busy so we brought our cake home with us.

The black-headed gulls were being fed bread as we returned across the top of the dam, which made for some spectacular acrobatics on the part of the gulls.  A really beautiful day, cold, but not as cold as we expected.
