Young street vendor

In Bagan, as in other parts of Myanmar (Burma), we are often approached by women trying to sell us postcards of the tourist sites.  Young girls (and sometimes boys) are also selling, but they offer their own childish paintings of typical temples and pagodas (although they still advertise them as "postcards").  This girl seemed a little too old to be offering such simple images, but she has the typical beauty of the Burmese girls.

We visited a variety of temples and pagodas today, There are a few to choose from in Bagan (more than 2000).  Sadly, many are covered in bamboo scaffolding following fairly recent earthquake damage, sometimes worse than it should have been because of years of neglect or substandard restoration under the period of military ruile.
