Trees

Topher and Jan left after breakfast, taking Megan, who has to get back to Glasgow for a circus skills session. It warmed up and started raining last night, so the snow is all gone, so their car got out without any bother.

Claire and Angus are both studying, while I prune apple and pairs around the house. There's a pear tree near the shed that's too tall, so I spend a while deciding how to lop it safely.

Claire and I take small tour. The Scots pines along the fence have really taken off in the past few years and you can walk among them and almost feel like you're in a wood. The oaks are doing really well too - no sign of any disease.

I read Alan Garner's Stone Quartet for the first time. It's a really beautiful little book, four tales about different generations of craftsmen from the same family. Lovely.
