Stripping the Willow

Well more a case of pruning the willow!
Two years ago Jen and Pete gave Tony a bunch of willow for Christmas from which he constructed this arch as a hideaway for our recycling bins.  It has grown well, with just a couple of the willow stems not taking.  Whilst it is devoid of leaves, it is time to cut back those which have grown too tall.  Tony used the pruned stems to replace the dead ones and now we can look forwards to the arch filling out again.  He'll use the extra stems to extend the length of the arch.

It's been a horrible, damp, misty day so I've been working on our Hebridean visit and thankfully I've now secured accommodation along our route down Skye, including staying at Saucy Mary's Hostel (!) phew! Next we have to wait until the trains become available to book.

I'm already fed up of seeing/hearing Trump on the tv.  I will certainly not be watching his inauguration.  We have to hope that his ideas for his Presidency will be reined in by those with more humanitarian and political experience.
