After The Storm

According to the news, the high tides and storm winds last week didn't result in the damage in Norfolk that was feared. Whilst that is true, there was a storm surge with damage on the coast and the coast road is still closed due to the debris left behind. Cromer Pier was closed due to damage and some beach huts were destroyed. This bird (which I'm told is a female Stonechat) was benefiting though as it was busy looking through reed debris removed from a raised pathway across the marshes in Blakeney.

G and I were in Blakeney for a free U3A talk by David Reeve who served as Head of Royal Protection in Norfolk before he retired. He talked about security when the Royals are at Sandringham and travelling around Norfolk, but he also relayed some very funny anecdotes about his own mishaps during this time. An excellent talk.
