Stair Shadows

These are the familiar, dimly lighted stairs from the ground to the first floor at the Grand Palais in Paris, where we went this afternoon for a wonderful exhibition on Mexican Art from 1900-1950 (with much before and after). It was a typically large show on the two floors, with nearly all the many works from outside France--the great majority from Mexico itself. Marylee and I have both spent time in Mexico, and we found it fascinating. Beyond the major artists--notably Diego Rivera, Orozco, Siquieros, and Frida Kahlo--most were unfamiliar to us.
