Reflections

Roedd diwrnod prysur heddiw.  Dw i wedi gwneud mwy o waith trwy gyfrwng Cymraeg.  Mae'n iawn gyda fi. Mae'n gwthio i mi i ddefnyddio  mwy o Gymraeg ac yn deall mwy. Dw i ddim yn rhugl eto, ond mae'n dda i adlewyrchu, weithiau, ar ba mor hir dw i wedi dod. Dyn ni'n cynllunio digwyddiad i ddathlu a hyrwyddo Cymraeg. Bydd y digwyddiad ym mis Mawrth, ond mae'r llawer o waith i wneud cyn hynny.

It was a busy day today. I've been doing more work through the medium of Welsh. It's fine with me. It pushed me to use more Welsh and understand more. I'm not fluent yet, but it's good to reflect, sometimes, on how far I have come. We're planning an event to celebrate and promote Welsh. The event will be in March, but a there's a lot of work to do before then.

Jôc:

There used to be a pun that went something like this: "Mae Pavarotti yn dysgu Cymraeg, ond dw e ddim yn rhugl eto" which means "Pavarotti is learning Welsh, but he's not fluent yet"Once you know that 'rhugl eto' ('fluent yet'), sounds like 'Rigoletto', the pun becomes apparent.

Hence: "Mae Pavarotti yn dysgu Cymraeg, ond dw e ddim yn rhugl eto" sounds like "Pavarotti is learning Welsh, but he's not Rigoletto"

(Perhaps it loses something in translation)
