The Heron Who Hid Behind A Hedge

The light is beautiful here in the late afternoon.  You get that bright yellow layer at the bottom and it goes up to dark blue - beautiful.  And truth be told, freezing.  -7°C this morning and I don't think it got much warmer.

I spotted this heron near a pond and it was standing in sunlight and looked great.  As I got my camera out, switched on and aimed, it took off.

And flew (slowly) in a circle round me.  And landed about 20 meters away.  I went over to it and it flew a slow circle around me in the other direction. 

That's when it landed behind the hedge.

The extra gives a better impression of the light.  I liked both of these.
