A day in London

A long, tiring, disappointing day, without the outcome we had hoped for. So feeling a bit despondent right now. But time to look again at the Camp America application and see if it can be improved.

Manda kindly drove us to Cheshunt railway station, and we were in London by 10.20. We decided that as the weather was so nice, we would walk. Down to the river and along the embankment to Westminster. I parked Mollie in a very long queue then went off to take photos.

At 1pm I walked down to Victoria to meet up with Glenys. We've been friends for 30+ years since meeting in the 1980's at Chester College.

We walked around for 2 hours chatting and sight seeing. Glenys lives and works in London, and we don't often get the chance to meet up, so it was great that she was free today and able to spend the afternoon with me.

We walked up to Trafalgar Square where we met with a huge Trump protest march. More photos. Then a coffee in St James' Park. We started moving again when it got too cold on our bench! Back to Victoria where we got sustenance in Pret a Manger, parting company at 4pm.

I met up with Mollie after her frustrating and tiring day. She is going to review her application form again, and hopefully will be offered a place soon.

We got the tube back, then ran for a train getting in to Cheshunt at 6.30. Dad picked us up and we have just eaten a very filling pizza. A lazy evening in front of the tv then bed. Early start tomorrow to get Mollie to work for 11.....

Next weekend, I've booked a lie in Saturday AND Sunday.
