Eye of the storm

What do you do when your back yard is full of water, a birds nest has been blown out of a tree and your petunias have been whipped off by the wind.?
You put flowers in the nest and get your Sunday afternoon blip and entertainment.
A wet and stormy night with many trees and branches down and flooded properties all over the country virtually. We got off lightly and we are used to the water running through. It has never come inside and we both slept through when the water was highest. 140mm of rain in 5 hours and wind gusts of 105kmph. A silver birch further down the cul de sac is roots up and my choisya has toppled but I have stood it back up, staked and tied it to the fence.
It was cold too but we have just got back from a walk and warmed up.
Not good camping weather for tourists.
We txted the chairman of local council who is also the high school chair and he has been and will revisit our problem.
