The Old White Beare

A lovely sunrise, but then then sun disappeared and it has been a cold damp grey day.
However we met my Mr C's brother and wife, and had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch at the Old White Beare, Norwood Green.
Three roaring log fires, making the place very cosy.

Dating back to 1533, originally built as an ale house and farm, on the Old Packhorse track between Halifax and Leeds.
Rebuilt 60 years later after a fire using timbers from the Elizabethan Galleon called the White Beare, and was renamed in honour of the ship, which took part in the actions against the Spanish Armada.
Then back here for coffee and biscuits.

A perfect way to spend a dreary day.
