Life through the lens...

YPS Heralds Spring

Weather forecast for today was blue skies and sun.
Well they were wrong, as by 10am it had clouded over.
However we did have a very enjoyable few hours walking round the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
We were surprised to see the lakes nearly frozen over.
A lot of mallard, coots, goosander, tufted ducks, and herons.
We were also surprised to see the herons had already started nesting, and another sign of Spring were the hazel catkins.

The collage shows two sculptures by the Swiss artist, Not Vital.
One a stainless steel Moon. The other  based on the Pelvis of a camel, scaled up and fabricated in beaten steel.
The third photo is looking through the bronze Barbara Hepworth sculpture entitled, Square with two circles.
The other three photos are of the herons nesting, reflections of the bridge, and the catkins. ( you just may have spotted MrC)

We finished off with a delicious warming vegetable soup and coffee in the cafe.
Just a pity the sun didn't shine.
