To Arthur's Pass

An early start for our kiwi train journey across the Southern Alps.  We had booked to go coast to coast from Christchurch to Greymouth but there had been a landslide a few days ago and the route was closed from Arthur's Pass.  A beautiful train journey in an immaculate train.  We had about 1 hour in Arthur's Pass and we had nice walk by a waterfall and an ice-cream.  Weather absolutely glorious today.

Back to the hotel and admin tasks - dropping off our hire car as we are so near to the end of our wonderful holiday now.

Walked around ChCh (I am picking up the local lingo) this evening and had dinner at a lovely place on New Regent Street.

ChrisPBacon has thrown down the gauntlet for me to find a ballerina painted on the gable end of a building here in the city.  We managed to find it but it now has a new building in front of it and you can no longer see it in its entirety which is a pity.  (see extras).
