Bare Branches

The bareness of branches enhances the steely stare
of a sky that holds the cold in building cloud;
yet hedges catch fingertip glances of silver sunlight,
a promise of softer, distant springtime green.

Slept well last night (thanks to Otrivine  nasal drops) and woke feeling a lot better than yesterday. Cold's still here, of course, but it and I seem to have come to an understanding of mutual tolerance. It's the easiest way! And the weather was a huge contrast to yesterday's grey sky and rain; crisp sunshine, suitable for a nice walk.
