The Road Home...

...from the mountains, albeit looking back here towards the mountains.
After a communal breakfast we packed our various cars and set off for our home towns. It was cloudy and grey and cold, a good few degrees below freezing.  The first 90 minutes of driving was along smallish roads covered in rutted ice. It was hard to relax with road conditions like that but everyone was driving very carefully and slowly so it felt reasonable.
The surroundings were beautiful with the roads running through forest or along  lakes or rivers. Here the road is following a large lake in the bottom of the valley. On this first half of the journey there are two villages and very few people otherwise.
It was good to reach larger roads as we neared the coast, even if the views were less spectacular.
Now we are home and tired and about to retreat to the sofa and a good film.
