Blue

Big thank yous to everyone for sending my butterfly on Sunday to the Spotlight and for all the lovely comments! Amazed and very thrilled with that!

As soon as the sun came out, left the old accounts (a benefit of working at home) - and shot into the field to find the Blue which I hoped was going to be flitting around. It had been proving pretty elusive and when seen even more difficult to capture. 'Patience is a virtue' but I was about to give up when she whispered over my head out of the sun, and settled!

Tiny but perfect.

The Common Blue female here is brown with an edge of orange spots on her back with her wings having a white fringe. She feeds on clovers and fleabane. They are usually found in large numbers but not here!
