It's curtains for me

This time last week I hung 3 sets of curtains which was a mammoth task but I knew there were another set still to do at our place. We've had these curtains for over 2 months now but had no time to put them up owing to the ongoing sorting of Doreen's house.

I don't find any DIY straighforward, there is always something that has to be worked around and this was no different in that the curtain and valance rails were orignially fitted in an interesting way and needed to be  taken down, readjusted and refitted. Hence the No More Nails for places where I couldn't access places with a screwdriver.

On a dank and dismal morning we took some 25kg of paperwork to be shredded. Found a local commercial company that bulk shreds at £6 per 15kg bag. We've done a mammoth sort out of stuff; cramming the recycling bin and the rubbish bin as well without, it appears, creating any more space!

From there it was a trip to B and Q to purchase stuff to repair and renovate the toolshed. Three 3m shiplap planks, a couple of rolls of roofing felt, felt adhesive and shed preservative. That's the next job, getting the shed ready to be joined by Susan's studio.
