If you can't beat them...

Fort Putnam

While on my walk I was naturally looking for possible blips.  I was almost back in the village having taken a few shots when I noticed Fort Putnam on the horizon.  So I put on the telephoto and took this shot.

Fort Putnam was built by Charles Howard 11th Duke of Norfolk (of Greystoke Castle) in 1789 as a folly farm house.  This was one year after Colonel Rufus Putnam of the 5th Massachusetts Regiment  built Fort Putnam at West Point Orange County New York.

Because of its position it is difficult to get a decent shot of it which is why I decided on using the telephoto for this blip.  Now it has been converted to residential apartments and a few houses built near by.
