Across the fields

This afternoon's walk led us out of the centre of Wooler just far enough (hardly any distance at all, in fact) for a view of Humbleton Hill. A lovely view across the fields, even on a rather grey day.

A short walk around Wooler this morning took me past a derelict-looking building that has an 'Open Studio' sign permanently on the door. When I've been out and about in Wooler the door has almost always been closed and locked, but this morning it was open, so I ventured in. Turns out to be the studio of a very friendly local artist, Jonathan Lloyd, a painter and printmaker, who very kindly showed me around his studio and talked through some of his work. An inspirational and interesting half an hour...
