Glenshee Time

With a good fall of snow last night and the sun shining in a bright blue sky, where else should we go today but Glenshee?  We drove for miles with just a teasing glimpse of the white peaks and no snow on the ground and I thought I must have over-estimated the snowfall, but then suddenly there it was, crisp and white and even!

The ski resort was jumping, with hundreds of cars parked and all the lifts operating, so we just drove on through and had lunch instead in a fairly deserted Braemar.  The drive back with the sun in our eyes was more challenging, but the views just as glorious.  There were lots of small footprints in the snow - mountain hares, we think, as they weren't deer - but the only wildlife to be seen were buzzards and a kestrel sitting on a post.

Hope the snow lasts a while, as it's been a terrible season so far for the ski resorts in Scotland.
