Beauly Firth

The name given to the westward extension of the Moray Firth. I usually take the Kessock Bridge as the boundary. This is looking more or less dead west from the old ferry terminal at South Kessock. They've built a roundabout with several parking spaces looking out in various directions over the water and across towards the hill of Craig Phadrig with its iron age vitrified fort, the end of the Caledonian Canal at Clachnaharry, North Kessock across the water to the north, and looking back north-east to the bridge. And it's a pleasant walk along the sea wall to the Caledonian Canal from here.
