On Guard

It started off quite sunny, so we headed to the Montrose Basin and the Nature Reserve there in the hope of seeing lots of birds.  Sadly, it got more and more misty as we drove and seemed to be a combination of haar from the sea and mist from the hills.  Birds don't much like those conditions either, so there weren't a lot to be seen at the reserve.

A large flock of eider ducks flying in was the greatest excitement, but they were a long way away, so my blip is of one of the many heron that live around the edge of the shore.  This one seemed to have appointed himself guard for the others, who were mostly hiding in the bushes:-)

We'll try again when the weather is better!
