Crail Harbour

With Perthshire sitting under a blanket of grey cloud and inspired by the sun-drenched photos of Lady Marchmont and her visit to the East Neuk, we crossed the Tay Bridge into the Kingdom of Fife this afternoon in the search for blue skies.  We found them in Crail (as she had done yesterday!) and even had a coffee and scone in the same café, though it was a bit too chilly to sit outside.

On a walk round the tiny harbour, we met a lovely young man who was staying in a cottage nearby while studying for his Masters at St Andrews.  He hailed from Essex, which is where our daughter lives, so we had lots to chat about.

We drove on to Anstruther for the delicious fish and chips and met up with a couple who had also been in the Crail café and who laughingly accused us of following them:-)  We nearly did, as they were heading back to St Andrews and we had to go the same way!

A lovely day, meeting lovely people and so many thanks to Lady Marchmont for the idea!
