The Coastal Walk

The sunshine has returned. The perfect day to wander along the stunning path from the Funchal Lido as far as Praia Formosa.

I couldn't have set off as I used to, but with the help of the number 1 bus, I could indulge in a leisurely potter to appreciate the rocks, waves and magical colours.

I was sitting outside the Magic Tearooms, enjoying my peppermint tea, when a huge Monarch butterfly and two smaller Clouded Yellows fluttered past. Too skittish to capture, but it's a wonderful feeling to see them.

Off to Olives this evening for a meal with friends and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
