Evening

Eleven years ago I made the momentous decision to leave my job, sell my home and move overseas. At the time I remember it all seemed remarkably straightforward, but I look back now  and I am amazed at the confidence and bravado I had.

My horizons have changed a lot in that time and I have learnt many things since then. One of the most important is that life is what you make it. The other is that each and everyone of us is capable of amazing things!

Maybe, as one of my good friends says, this was my version of a mid life crisis, but as I look forward to at least another three years in Japan I am ever grateful for the decision I made all those years ago. I'm not sure what the future holds but it is never going to be dull!
