No room

My collection of fridge magnets appears somehow to have grown so much that I have completely filled the two magnet boards on the wall. So I have had to resort to . . . . . . . . . the fridge!!

Here are the last few that have been gathered – four from South Africa, including the elephant one that inspired my elephant blip, and of course an African Penguin. The bottom one is one of the Radical Eye photographs at the Tate – Glass Tears by Man Ray, 1932. And then one found yesterday at the map exhibition at the British Library – a map projection showing Africa at its true relative size, at least compared to Europe. Map projection is one of Gordon’s favourite topics – how different maps deal with the curve of the globe, often with an underlying political or other motive, so he was in his element yesterday at the exhibition - and he bought a book full of . . . maps!
