He appeared too stuck up
to speak to me himself
but the man who owns the shop
(outside of which
the old musician likes to sit)

told me that Storm Doris stole
Sellotape Man’s Jimi Hendrix hair*
(as a souvenir?)
when she gale-forced in

and hared up the hill
just yesterday.
With tall buildings either side

that narrow street
must have acted like a wind tunnel.
