Stuff and Nonsense

Goodbye Miami

After a lovely long sleep and a lazy morning, we headed from our hotel to the Oceania Marina - our home away from home for the next 10 days. There were 5 other monster ships in port when we got here and they all dwarfed our 1200 passenger vessel. This is a "big" ship for us as we are used to less than 700 passengers onboard Azamara, but it feels fine so far. I'd hate to go on one of those massive ships that take 5000+ people - I just can't imagine it, but I'm sure many people enjoy them - I guess they must do!  Each to his own :)
Anyway, here we are with a day at sea tomorrow and then 7 ports in the Caribbean to take in. We've decided not to do a tour/excursion at every port, mainly because I need to relax after my crazy start to the year. We'll get off and have a mooch about at the ones we haven't booked anything for.
We have some free wifi this cruise, so I should be able to blip daily, at least when we can get a signal, so hopefully I will be able to catch up and keep up for a change.

Well, it's now time to see if the food is as good as they say it is - I am sure it will be :)

Today's blip is the view from deck 14 aft leaving Miami port, and the extra is a rather large bird that we thought was some sort of a Frigate bird, but on closer inspection it looks a bit like a pelican, but I'm not so sure. If anyone recognises it, please let me know what it is.
