But, then again . . . . .

Top o' the Rig.

It was the Tour of East Lothian 100 km audax this morning and I was marshalling at the top of Redstane Rig. The Blip is of the first rider through though Snowcycle wasn’t far behind coming through in the first dozen riders (out of 200). The extra is of the third group just starting and the weather is warm and sunny without any wind. 75 minutes later at the top o’ the Rig (and 440 metres higher), the snow hasn’t completely melted from the week-end, the sun has gone back indoors, and a moderate gale is blowing. After another 90 minutes, the last man went through having got lost (having just needed to follow the other 199); he was an elderly gent riding his first audax. Visibility had deteriorated so that we could no longer see the sea, the rain was getting heavy, the gale was, officially, howling and we couldn't feel our fingers.

By the time I had arrived home, the sun was trying to break through again.
