Hopeful

It's been a raw, gloomy day - until it was too late to be much use, really: the sky cleared around 5.30pm. But this morning, against a really dark sky, I noticed how green the garden suddenly looked, with buds and shoots sprouting, unwisely or not, all over the place. The most vigorous are those on the rosa rugosa - they've been at it since January, and I really need to do something about them.

But not in the gloom.
