A trip to the hospital

I had to go to Warwick Hospital for a checkup, so we decided to drop into Warwick on the way back and visit Lord Leycester Hospital.
This Hospital has nothing to do with medicine but is a "hospital" in the old meaning of the word  ( hence "hospitality" ).
This group of beautiful medieval buildings, which mainly date from the late 1300's, are clustered round the West Gate - the Norman gateway on the main road into Warwick from Stratford, and there is a 12th Century Chapel above the gateway.  Since the days of Queen Elizabeth I the Hospital has been a place of retirement for old warriors, who are known as the Brethren. Together with the Master, (who for the first time in history is a lady) the 12 Brethren  still live within Lord Leycester Hospital, and are a legacy of almost 450 years of history.
My extra shows Brother Bill who gave us an absolutely fascinating history of the place - without once referring to any notes. There was only C and myself there, and Bill was utterly charming and helpful. More Bills in the world would only be a good thing.
There are also some lovely gardens there, and we both thought that it would be a brilliant place for a Blipmeet in the late spring / early summer. It's only about 2 miles from the M40 so is very easy to get to.
In other news - I was very sad to see that the Azure Window has collapsed on the island of Gozo (just off Malta).  We had a couple of dives right under the "window" some years ago. We were with a local guide who pointed out some seahorses to us, in the weed directly below the window, at about 20 metres. That's the first and only time that I have ever seen seahorses "in the wild". I also remember on that dive a fisherman's line and weights come flying past me as the fisherman on the rocks above cast his line.
