Flattened

Work has finally started on building a new row of shops along Raeburn Place. There's been a pretty vociferous local campaign against the development but Edinburgh Academicals (the site is part of their playing fields) has a fair bit of clout and I guess all objections have now been dismissed or, more likely, ignored by the council. The long line of rubble that's been lying around for more than a year has now been carted off and it looks the ground is being prepared for the foundations.

I had to nip aside sharpish just after taking this to avoid a dumper truck flattening me into the dirt! It then parked sticking out into the main road - a sign of the traffic chaos to come no doubt.
