Slate

A brief pause before setting up the gig to visit Atherstone where M thought she might find some ancestors in the churchyard. As it happened, the church in Atherstone was only a chapel of ease, so the burial ground was down the road half a mile in Mancetter.
Fantastic slate gravestones, still looking pristine after 260 years. M found three relatives, and a philosophical gravestone
I was struck by this one, the slate allowed the monumental masons to really go to town on the curlicues!
