Sherwood alloments

A day helping to convert an old sloping car park into allotments was an enjoyable break away from the computer and the stresses of organising the forthcoming orienteering event.  This shot best demonstrates the teamwork involved in terracing the slope.
It's good to be creating an area on a housing estate where the rain can soak into the ground although the topsoil that was brought in after the concrete was removed is full of the most horrid weeds with roots like parsnips with long side roots. Suspect it was cheap.
