On the Wii

We've had a fabulous day today in Bath with Mrs C, Mr M and all our hundreds of children!
We dropped Archie off on Bicester en route for a day with Nana, Papa, River and Elsie and with a brief stop at Leigh Delamere because Mr K can't pass a service station without stopping for coffee!!!! the journey down to Bath was really quick and easy.
The Little Misses were giddy to see Mr L and Mr R. As usual they all picked up exactly where they left off.
And as usual the grown ups picked up where we left off - lots of chat, tea and laughter!
After lunch we headed out to the park. The children whinged and complained that they didn't want to go out but after an hour running round the park and climbing trees they were all whinging and complaining that they didn't want to go home!!
It was a beautiful park - up on a hill overlooking Bath with wonderful views of the city and surrounding countryside.
As Mrs C and I went to the edge to admire the view we were practically knocked out by the unmistakable aroma of pot wafting around us. There was a black Audi with the windows down full of some very relaxed youths enjoying the views too!! Smoke was literally billowing out!!
We stood there breathing deeply took in the view and then went back up to the park to rescue various of our children who needed rescuing but were being ignored by their daddies!
When we got home the kids went straight back to the Wii while Mr K and I sat and watched Mrs C and Mr M cook a roast dinner. No Meatabix sadly!!!!
Mr M was under some pressure with the roast potatoes as I may have mentioned that I am the master of roast potatoes and mine are generally the best I've ever tasted.
It galls me to admit that they were sensational and without a doubt the best roast potatoes I've ever eaten. Posh tongs and goose fat is clearly the way to go!
But the less said about Mrs C's attempt at gluten free Yorkshire puddings the better. Ha ha ha ha!!!!!
There was an amazing Eton Mess for pudding. With homemade meringues. Yummy!!!!!
We left just before 8pm and the Little Misses both fell asleep on the way home which they haven't done for ages so we had a very peaceful journey.
We called in to pick up a tired Archie and were all in bed within minutes of getting home.
What a lovely day with our lovely friends!
