A very strange beast...

...I painted this for admirer's Silly Saturday challenge.
I understand Mischa is hosting this week.

I am still practising with my pyrography pen with the encaustic wax technique on canvas. Am learning to get a bit more detail with it, especially for painting wax on canvas. You can build up with it a bit more than you can on paper. It does take rather a long time this way rather than with my household iron. But it makes a change.

I think the cat looks a bit startled as to what is happening to it!

This is also my contribution for today for my challenge to myself to do a painting a day every day in 2017.
