Forced march

We wake way too early. The only guests in the B&B, we have the breakfast room to ourselves. Poached eggs, smoked salmon, industrial coffee.

Walking down the high street, we bump info Karin. She decides to accompany us on our Aberlady-North Berwick beach walk. A hasty change of footwear and we're on the 124 to Aberlady. Like naughty school children we take the back seat.

At the car park we meet Ang and Alison and head off. The weather is fine, the sea invigorating to walk beside. Up dunes, across rocks, through puddles. We allowed 3 hours for the walk, but after a short break or two it takes more like 3 and a half.

Barbara is waiting at Steampunk where we drink overpriced coffee and eat overpriced toasties. Ali leaves and the rest of us repair to the Auld House for alcohol.

After a wee break back at our room, we're in The Ship for pub food and beer. Dave joins us and we talk records. Then, rather than continue in the pub, it's up to Dave and Karin's for some strange blueberry gin. Claire and I flake early, though, leaving the hard core to drink through the night.
