Pink Pampas Grass and Blue Sky

The beautiful pink Pampas Grass is in bloom and down by the river this huge stand of them was about 4 metres high! The leaves are like razor blades so you can't go very close but those beautiful pink fronds looked magical in the late afternoon light.

This used to be a very popular plant about 30 years ago but has fallen out of favour since being declared a nuisance weed. Each of those fronds can produce around 100,000 seeds which are dispersed by the wind and in no time at all they've taken over the whole neighbourhood!!

Had a lovely relaxing day and now I am off to bed early so I'll be ready for another big week at work!!
