Snow And Music

We woke to a covering of snow but the two girls next door must have been up very early to have built this snowman and child before school.

Unexpectably available, we were able to hear two pieces by Dmitri Shostakovich at lunchtime, performed by the Edinburgh Quartet, always a popular concert and very well-attended. The Cello Sonata in D minor, Op. 40 played by Mark Bailey, accompanied by James Willshire on piano, was followed by the String Quartet No 1 in C major, with Zoë Beyers (violin), Tom Hankey (violin), Catherine Marwood (Viola) and, once again, Mark Bailey (cello) - they appear as an extra photo.
