Do Not Break Down

Day three of moving fun and games.  I am happy to report that, despite this rather terrifying image, we managed to survive the whole ordeal, and it is now fading into the past where we fervently hope it will remain.  I had to laugh when I noticed the bright green sticker on one of the boxes moved upstairs this morning from yesterday's delayed truck load, which read "Do Not Break Down."  I decided this was excellent advice, and stuck said sticker to my sweater as my mantra for the day.

Other than a couple of oafish moments on behalf of the movers (tripping over the quarter mile of tape they had just peeled off the moving blankets they'd used to try to diminish the dents/gashes/gouges/splits/punctures/stains inflicted on our possessions during their stumblebum efforts to relocate them, for example), and several instances of piling heavy boxes atop ones clearly labeled FRAGILE, things went relatively smoothly and quickly this morning, and we were able to wave farewell to our hapless trio shortly before noon.

Now everything sits piled at one end of the living room, swathed in acres of plastic sheeting, where it will wait patiently until all of the painting, woodworking, and electrical work is completed, and we can finally unpack and begin to live there!
