Turkey Vulture's Back!

These ugly carrion eating birds migrate south in the winter so I was surprised to see one today.   Also watching it from above and quite far away I was hoping it was an eagle or an osprey soaring on the thermals, and could proclaim it’s flight “graceful.”  But no,  this is a turkey vulture doing it’s only graceful thing (really , it is!)…flying in the wind.   


A day for a bunch of chores after a good long sleep …drizzling in the afternoon but not so cold.  Everything that should be blooming is late..only a couple of daffodils are out but I am appreciating the the red flowering currant that is almost there.
