The Paralympics

I woke in a panic in the night and reading the small print realised I should have brought the passports!!!!! You don't definitely need them but you might, Max was coming into town anyway but kindly brought them over to East London at 7.30am, he wasn't very pleased but Rita placated him with an egg and bacon roll and coffee ;-)
We had an amazing day in the Olympic stadium, we were in the 12th row and had a great view, we were right by the blind long jumping, amazing watching the guides shouting for them and jumping out of the way at the last minute, the Chinese bronze medalist was a real character and would theatrically rip off his trousers before every jump!
We also saw shot and javelin and running and wheelchair racing, it was moving and inspiring and just great to be there. We even got to be part of a Mexican wave!
Afterwards we went to see my lovely friend Tanya who is working there and she gave the boys Wenlock statuettes and Mandeville toys!
Then off to Rita's local Turkish cafe for an amazing meal of chicken and prawns and rice and salad, delish and great value.
We are all tired and it was incredibly hot today too so having a relaxed evening and an early night!
Aquatic centre tomorrow!
