The Paralympics day 2

Zebedee, Gulli, Rita and I set off for day 2 of the Paralympics at 7.30 am! Rita lives really near Eton Manor gate which hardly anyone uses, there are no queues and no crowds! We got there early hoping to go in the coca cola box but it didn't open till 9 and our event at the Aquatic centre started at 9.30, so we had a coffee in the morning sun and walked over to the Aquatic centre and were in by 9.10 waiting for the heats to begin, it was so inspiring to watch and deeply moving to see what some people are faced with and what they have managed to achieve in spite of it all, we saw a couple of men swimming with no limbs at all, just incredible! We saw several records broken and cheered everyone along, it was so exciting with our swimmers doing so well and breaking records too!
Zebedee got a great diving in shot!
After the session Rita had to shoot off and I took the boys to McDonalds, I never normally go there but it's fast, efficient and the kids eat all the food! Then we wandered around and came across the Wickham Morris dancers, they were such fun, great accordion playing and dancing, they got Zebedee up with them at one point!
We went home through the Stratford gate which was heaving but it was interesting to use another gate and the boys enjoyed Westfield shopping centre, especially The Mini Store where they could get into some very posh minis!
Back home, I am exhausted but it has been well worth it!
