The Grand Adventures of the Tiny Snowmenz

Winter seems to be drawing to a close in Pennsylvania. Officially, the calendar says spring, and as evidence of same, on this day, I found the first tiny yellow daffodils blooming in our yard. All of the snow was gone on this morning except for one tiny pile near our deck - just enough to make a few last tiny snowmen!

The temperature was well above freezing, and I knew we didn't have long to play. So we had a grand adventure, just for one day. This photo is just one in a much longer series; I couldn't fit them all on this page, so you'll just have to read about the rest.

First off, I'm not sure what the genders are of these snowmen are. Or any of these creatures, for that matter. But I do suspect that green thing worn on the head of the snowman on the left just might be a toupee! The others are wearing fashionable acorn hats.

The tiny snowmen enjoyed the yellow daffodils (not pictured). They met some mustachio'ed peeps wearing top hats and bow-ties. (Yes, we believe in formal attire when the time is right to celebrate a Grand Event.)

At one point, a tiny bear in a colorful convertible drove past. He was a real chick magnet, and the car had tiny peeps in the back, with a host of tiny chicks following. (Hey, peeps, stop that! Those are Crittergators, not bugs!) The snowmen met a pretty dinosaur and a spiky hedgehog. What fun they had cavorting with them; it was totally prehistoric, man!

And then the snowmen decided that riding llamas (or are they alpacas?) would be lots of fun. So we went on a Machu-Picchu-inspired ride around the deck. The snowmen initially had a bit of trouble balancing on their trusty steeds, but everybody held on pretty well.

One last touch: we rounded out the parade with tiny hippos in every color of the rainbow, including one who is red with white polka-dots. Do we know how to organize an adventure, or what? It went quite well, and we fit all the fun we could into just one day.

The soundtrack: the Grass Roots, Let's Live for Today.
