Gently down the stream

New leaves

Today what I noticed most on my walk along the stream and through the meadows was the number of trees and shrubs coming into leaf, sufficiently encouraged by this warm weather: hawthorn, birch, elder, horse chestnut ('sticky buds' we used to call them) and of course hazel(!), but this one I thought in many ways the most beautiful, with its silky silvery undersides and the remains of a flower head as added extra.

I think by tomorrow the sun may have gone, but it would be hard to complain - it's been lovely.

Choir tonight, but I'll do what commenting I can before I go.  enjoy your evening, all  xx
