Poison ivy

.......
Poison ivy, poison ivy
Well late at night when you're sleeping
Poison ivy comes a creeping all around

Measles make you bumpy and mumps'll make you lumpy
And chicken pox'll make you jump and twitch
A common cold'll cool you but whooping cough'll fool you
But poison ivy's gonna make you itch

You're gonna need an ocean
Of calamine lotion
You'll be scratching like a hound
The minute you start to mess around

Very interesting talk on sile na gigs last night. We were packed into a small room in the Maritime Hotel like sardines. So fascinating - just how old are they and what did they signify? Many theories to both questions. I like the idea that they were used to ward off the evil eye for often they were place high on castle or hidden in churches. Those that were accessible were often rubbed or inscribed with crosses as part of a pattern or pilgrimage route. I don't think they have anything to do with birth or lust or eroticism but are the hag/all powerful goddess in ferocious form!

The sunshine has gone but I hope it will return shortly for we shall be off piste for a while. Cornwall beckons and the sons, girlfriend and  brother are all invited for a long weekend to celebrate Himself's large birthday of a week ago. I will be backblipping so catch you all soon.

Another entry for the EP challenge - amazing how many natural filters you can spot once you start looking. Today I was inside Nirvana!

And a new blog entry
