Life in Sunny Dubai

Fresh juice while you wait

Today has felt quite full on. First off, the Peugeot went back to the garage for the ongoing problem of the steering not feeling right after the tie-rods were replaced. That done, we headed over to Festival City to have a free coffee at IKEA, and then had a quick look around for lots of things we don't need, but it's always good to see what's out there.

And then... we visited a brand new store which opened today. Robinsons (since 1858) except this is the first time I've heard of it. Found it and headed straight to the top floor to find that John Lewis is now in Dubai! Woo hoo.

Another shop at Hyper Panda which will close soon. The recession has hit grocery retail really badly; I guess it is apparent with the amount of offers we keep seeing; except people can't afford to take advantage of the offers!

The garage called and said they had done all they can with the car; it needs new tyres, so after collecting it, we went to do just that... there is a tiny cafeteria right next door, so we both had fresh coconut juice, right from the husk itself, and after we drunk it all (can't believe how much there is inside), the man cut them open for us so we could eat the pulp. Another first for me.
