Pink Haze

on the Grove in Ilkley.

A damp and dull early 4 mile walk around the St Ives Estate with the usual suspects at the feeding station on Coppice Pond. Not many female ducks, too busy elsewhere. The Cob and Pen were there plus a couple of Coots but nothing exciting for a blip.

This afternoon we went into Ilkley. Spent a bit of time on The Grove looking in the charity shops before having a late lunch. It was brighter by then and the blossom trees looked lovely enough for a blip. Very tiny pale flowers were creating a fine confetti on the pavement. I'm not sure what the trees are, certainly not the same as the cherries and almonds in our village.

Our trip was to visit the lovely Ilkley cinema to see The Viceroy's House. It was excellent and Gillian Anderson made a perfect Edwina Mountbatten. It was still light when we came out so we went for a drink before coming home.

A pleasant afternoon out over the moor in Wharfedale.
