The Lozarithm Lens

The Old Forge (Monday 27th March 2017)

Rather like Saturday, the day was dominated by the boiler which had developed the habit of stopping to work. A repair man was due to look at it in the morning and the boiler pilot light cooperated by helpfully going out again, and I didn't restart it so that the repairer could witness the fault. He hadn't arrived by 1300 hr but after a call to the insurance company it was discovered he was now expected mid-afternoon. He did indeed show up, restarted the boiler and conducted a series of tests at the end of which he declared he could find no fault, and went away again. He gave me a number to call next time it fails.
All this meant I didn't get to go out, so this is yet another diary blip. There have been a number of these recently, which tells you something about my life.
