Vermillian Flycatcher

We spent a wonderful day along the Salt River in the Tonto National Forest.  We saw Silky Flycatchers, Vireos, Warblers, Bullock Orioles and various other species including some sort of prairie dog, squirrels, and lizards, but   these gorgeous Vermillian Flycatchers who were nesting and flitting around catching flies, as they do, were the highlight for me.  I had a couple of shots with flies in the mouth, but they were so far away you would have had to take my word for it, so I decided to go with this "glamour shot" of this male with the soft background. Dbifulco gets an A++ for recommending this site, identifying the varied types of birds for us and for lots of good laughs.
